Android Powered Maze -If there’s one place you’re guaranteed to stumble across technology to drool over it’s the Google I/O conference. This year’s event was held in San Francisco, attracting thousands of developers from across the world but it was this fun maze game that made us smile. The user guides the giant ball around the maze, controlling it with an android tablet. Maybe we could fit one in the CKSK basement?

Social Media Brought To Life – Everyone has a friend who seems to live their life through social networking sites. You know what they had for breakfast because they tweeted a photo of it and you know they’re having a tough time with their partner because Facebook told you ‘It’s complicated’. Think about it, and if you can’t pinpoint someone, you are that friend! Part of a viral campaign, advertising a new opera by Nico Muhly, this video takes Facebook and Twitter and puts them into real life. A fun look at how we interact online, and something to make us question if it’s time to stop ‘poking’ our friends?

Pinball Skatepark - It took 17 days, and a reported $500,000, to build but we think the Mountain Dew Pinball Skatepark was worth it. A fully functioning pinball machine that you can skate on, the skater replaces the ball allowing them to rack up points as they complete the course. We definitely couldn’t fit this one in the office, and we’re not expert skaters, but there’s more than a few people in the CKSK office who would love to give this a go.

Hyper Island is the world leader in the field of education for interactive communication, business management and leadership and we’re honoured that they have agreed to hold a Mater Class in the CKSK Dublin office. This is their first Master Class in Ireland and according to Johanna Frelin, CEO of Hyper Island, they are equally excited about the visit. She said: “We are thrilled to have been invited to Dublin by CKSK, an agency with digital at it’s core, and are committed to helping them expand their expertise and enhance their ability to collaborate in this dynamic new world. ”

The three-day Master Class (27 – 29 June) will be open to CKSK staff members, clients and special guests and will focus on digital training, inspiration and team building. Hyper Island’s Master Classes feature an array of speakers, including top digital talents Mark Comerford, Daniele Fiandaca, Jonathan Briggs and Mikael Ahlstrom.

We’re looking forward to welcoming the Hyper Island team to our office and excited at the prospect of learning from some of the most creative minds in the industry. And with Hyper Island often referred to as the ‘Digital Harvard’ there’s no doubt we’ll be learning from the very best there is!

For anyone wondering exactly where we’re located, we’re right opposite Dakota. You might be able to spot us from the passers-by sneaking a peep in the window, as it seems our bar/reception area is creating some confusion as to what’s going on inside.
